I wanted something good enough, but at the same time nothing too fancy: after all I was eating by myself. Taking a look at a number of top ten list, I finally settled for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cuinessantacaterina.com\/\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cuines Santa Caterina<\/a>, a restaurant in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercatsantacaterina.net\/\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Santa Caterina market<\/a>, in part because we tried to eat there in December after checking out the market for its architecture (it was renovated by the architects Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue). <a href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_TxUvsfyi-k8\/Saw5JYA0BJI\/AAAAAAAACJ0\/dcb-nJAaaxQ\/s1600-h\/Image0015.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_TxUvsfyi-k8\/Saw5JYA0BJI\/AAAAAAAACJ0\/dcb-nJAaaxQ\/s320\/Image0015.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5308680893990438034\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a> Turned out to be a great choice: it was a relatively slow night (only 120 servings, vs 350 or so on a busy night, or so I was told) and I could sit at the bar with a view on the cooking stations and the chef right in front of me controlling the stations and interacting with the waiters, who would pick the food right to my left. Very interesting indeed! The food was pleasant and fresh. I had Hummus, babaganush and guacamole with mini pita breads, Dorada con tomate y ceps, cheese plate, at which point I realized I still hadn&#8217;t tried a crema catalan in catalunia so I asked for a half crema, and got a little pot courtesy of the chef, whom I had an interesting discussion with. Je voulais quelque chose de bon mais pas trop chic, apr\u00e8s tout je mangeait seul. Apr\u00e8s avoir regarder une s\u00e9rie de listes top dix, j&#8217;ai choisi <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cuinessantacaterina.com\/\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cuines Santa Caterina<\/a>, un restaurant situ\u00e9 dans le <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mercatsantacaterina.net\/\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener\">march\u00e9 Santa Caterina<\/a>, en partie parce que nous avions h\u00e9sit\u00e9 y manger en D\u00e9cembre apr\u00e8s avoir visit\u00e9 <a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_TxUvsfyi-k8\/Saw4vwrVhwI\/AAAAAAAACJs\/YPpunPFfEtQ\/s1600-h\/Image0012.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 240px; height: 320px;\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_TxUvsfyi-k8\/Saw4vwrVhwI\/AAAAAAAACJs\/YPpunPFfEtQ\/s320\/Image0012.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5308680453934647042\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>le march\u00e9 pour son architecture (r\u00e9cemment r\u00e9nov\u00e9 par les architectes Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue), mais pas eu le courage de faire la file. Choix g\u00e9nial! C&#8217;\u00e9tait une soir\u00e9e lente (seulement 120 couverts alors qu&#8217;ils servent 350 un jour charg\u00e9) et j&#8217;ai pu m&#8217;asseoir au bar avec vue sur tous les postes de cuisine (c&#8217;est une cuisine ouverte) et possibilit\u00e9e d&#8217;\u00e9couter le chef interagir avec ses sous chefs et avec les serveurs: il \u00e9tait plac\u00e9 juste devant moi, et les serveurs passaient chercher les plats \u00e0 ma gauche! La nourriture \u00e9tait bonne. J&#8217;ai mang\u00e9 un plat de hummus, babaganush and guacamole servi avec des mini pains pita, suivi de Dorada con tomate y ceps, une assiette de fromage. En plein milieu de mon plat de fromage je me suis rendu compte que je n&#8217;avais toujours pas mang\u00e9 de cr\u00eame catalane en catalogne, et j&#8217;ai demand\u00e9 si l&#8217;on pouvait me faire une demi cr\u00eame, et j&#8217;ai eu un petit pot, gr\u00e2ce au chef avec qui j&#8217;avais d\u00e9j\u00e0 bien discut\u00e9.
