Semana Santa is over. It started on the Friday (April 3) before, when Gadea came home with this:

This is a Nazareno. It is a member of a Cofradia, or fraternity. Below, you can see the real thing (and we saw a lot!) These men and women (used to be only men) take care of an image or two, and take it out in a procession at some point during the week. To do that they put it on a “trono”, and the whole week Gadea wanted to go and see the tronos.
C’est un Nazareno. C’est un membre du Cofradia, ou confraternit\u00e9. (Ci dessous vous pouvez en voir un vrai (et on en a vu beaucoup!) Ces hommes et femmes (avant,seulement hommes) s’occupent d’une image ou deux, et la sortent durant Semana Santa. Pour cela, ils la mettent sur un “trono”, et Gadea voulait sans cesse aller voir les tronos.

During Semana Santa, from Palm Sunday to the Sunday of resurrection, and with the exception of the Saturday, a number of processions take place. In Malaga, there are 8 on Palm Sunday, then 6 on the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 7 on the Thursday, 8 on Good Friday, and 1 on Sunday of Resurrection. In the latter, one Cofradia walks its two images, but all other Cofradias send members. There is one portion of the procession (Alameda principal, calle Larios, plaza de la Constitucion) that is common to all, and where seats are put up for rent.
Pendant Semana Santa, du Dimanche au Dimanche de resurection, et avec l’exception du samedi, un certain nombre de processions ont lieu. A Malaga, il y en a 8 le premier dimanche, 6 les lundi, mardi et mercredi, 7 le jeudi, 8 le vendredi et 1 derni\u00e8re le dimanche de resurection. Durant cette derni\u00e8re, une Cofradia prom\u00e8ne sess deux images, mais toutes les autres envoient des repr\u00e9sentants. Toutes les processions partagent un bout du chemin (Alameda principal, calle Larios, plaxa de la Constitucion) sur lequel des chaises sont plac\u00e9es et misent \u00e0 la location.
